The Lionhead goldfish has no roar, but a cute and adorable face.

The Lionhead goldfish, is one of the oldest breeds of goldfish. This fish will easily tug at your heartstrings, as it has the most adorable face and head growth.

The over developed head growth looks like a swollen raspberry, but the fishes face is so cute, you just want to love it. The head growth can come in different sizes, but for some fish it can become very annoying. The growth can grow over the pet’s gills, making it difficult for the fish to breath.

The Lionhead goldfish has a big fat belly, and a deep body. It doesn’t have a dorsal fin, but a nice arched smooth back.

This adorable fish comes in a wide range of colors and mixtures of colors.

The Lionhead has a wonderful peaceful personality.

This fish has some problems seeing, especially if the head growth covers up its eyes. As with all sight impaired fish, they should be kept together, so that everyone has the same chance of finding food. The speedy swimmers such as the Common’s and Comet’s, should be kept together and in a different aquarium from the Lionhead, Celestial Eye, Panda Moor, and Veil Tail.

This is a wonderful goldfish variety.

To find out about other goldfish varieties please click the type that intrigues you: Common, Comet, Black Moor, Bubble Eye, Celestial Eye, Fantail, Ranchu, Panda Moor, Telescope Eye, Veil Tail, Pompom, Ryukin, Shubunkin, Pearl Scale, Oranda, and Lionhead.
