Aquarium Accessories
There are a lot more aquarium accessories on the market than you might think. Just buying an
aquarium
isn’t enough to ensure a healthy and long living lifecycle for your goldfish. You need to make sure you have a few extra
aquarium accessories.
Depending on how large your tank is and how elaborate you want to make your hobby, depends on what extras you need. You will need to make sure your goldfish aquarium has a lid. Fish are amazing creatures and will jump out of the fish tank, just as a new playful trick. They don’t realize flying has disastrous consequences for them. I have lost a kamikaze fish due to his unusual predilection of wanting to fly, and it was very distressing to find him in the morning. Therefore, a lid will keep everyone right where they should be, and safe. One time, to help keep the algae down, we introduced a snail to the fish tank. This was a wonderful aquarium accessory, as ‘Lightening’, (his name), was just as fascinating to watch as were the fish. He too had his own personality, and could really zip around the fish tank, in a blink of an eye. He made a difference to the whole ecosystem and was an extraordinary aquarium accessory. The most basic of all aquarium accessories is the fish net. Of course if you have a deep fish tank you’ll need a net with a longer handle. My husband always likes to use his hands to move the fish. This really isn’t advised unless you’re really careful. For him he likes the contact with our pets, and actually he has our fish trained so that they’ll let him tickle their tummies.
Yes fish can be trained.
We’ve tried gravel vacuum’s to ease the burden of
cleaning the fish tank
but at times they seem to be more trouble than they are worth. Some people have had good results with them, it’s something you’ll need to try out for yourself. Water cleaners are always a good aquarium accessory. If you use regular soap to clean your tank with and some residual soap is left behind it’ll be deadly for your pets. Water cleaners help to get rid of lime and algae build-up without causing any harm to your aquatic creatures. These are just a few basic tips to include in your aquarium supplies. Have fun with your goldfish, keep them clean and safe.
